SUMMARY:Camp Sumatanga (Day Camp)
DESCRIPTION:Registration for this event is now full\nCamp Sumatanga is a Methodist camp with a long history of opening up God’s creation for kid’s recreation. We will talk about a Bible story every day\, worship and do all the campy stuff like sing\, swim\, canoe\, hike\, and do crafts. TrinityKids have enjoyed making Sumatanga a foundational experience to grow in their faith. \n\nRegistering for Day Camp is a 2 part process:\nStep 1: Bus Registration \nTrinity is happy to provide transportation for TrinityKids to attend Sumatanga Day Camp\, June 22-26.  This form registers your child for our church’s bus transportation to camp.  Please note that by filling out this form you have secured a spot on our bus for Day Camp BUT you must still go to Camp Sumatanga’s website to register your child for Day Camp for Step 2 to complete the process. We will begin by registering TrinityKids for these limited seats.  If you attend another church but would like to be placed on our waitlist for available seats\, please email Emily Boles (eboles@trinitybirmingham.com). We will open registration to community friends (our waitlist) on April 1st if there are any remaining seats. \nStep 2: Day Camp Registration \nRegister for your child with Sumatanga at https://sumatanga.org/summer-camp-dates-descriptions/. Note: You will receive a church code (found in your bus confirmation email from Trinity) that will be necessary to register with Sumatanga. \n\n\n\n\nSumatanga Day Camp info: \n\nJune 22-26.\nCost is $50 (to Trinity for transportation) and $165 (to Sumatanga for Day Camp)\nDay Camp is for rising 1st-3rd graders.\nDrop off @7:30am and pick up @4:30pm will be in the Trinity parking lot.\nCampers will be outside enjoying God’s creation in canoes\, hikes\, swimming and crafting.\nThis form secures a spot on the bus\, but registration is not complete until you register with Sumatanga.\n\nDay Camp Adult Volunteer\n\nWe are looking for adult volunteers (18 and older) to help make this week happen! DESCRIPTION:Homewood Way of the Cross is an annual Good Friday ecumenical procession through our neighborhood. Beginning at 2:00 pm at Homewood Central Park\, clergy and neighbors from multiple congregations will walk together\, following a carried wooden cross and reflecting on the last hours of Jesus’ life through scripture\, song\, and prayer. Along the way\, the procession will pause for moments of prayer at several local churches before concluding at Edgewood Presbyterian Church. All are welcome to take part in this meaningful community tradition.

Parents\, don’t worry though\, this is NOT a lock-in. We want your students to get as much rest during Discovery as possible so that they can fully participate and share in the weekend! \n \n\nLearn a little more about Discovery Weekend\nCost: Super Early Bird Rate is $129 for Middle Schoolers and $109 for High Schoolers. DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendars and make plans to join us for the Trinity West Glow Parade on Sunday\, November 16. We are going to light up West Homewood! Last year’s Glow Parade was such a hit that we hope this year can be even better. This parade is unlike so many others because we don’t want spectators. We want you to join in! A parade is to celebrate something great is happening\, and we think something great is happening at Trinity West Homewood.\n\nThe parade will begin by gathering down at Seeds Coffee at 5:00 pm where everyone will don their glow gear. And don’t worry\, we will have plenty of lights and glow sticks for everyone that needs them! The parade will start shortly after that as we head down Oak Grove Road. The route will end at the Trinity West Homewood front lawn where we will have a huge tailgate set up with inflatables\, food\, and music.\n\n\nWho can glow?\nEveryone! There is no age or species limit. We want all of our friends in West Homewood and beyond to participate in this parade because we think something great is happening and it needs to be celebrated.\nDo I need to bring my own glow materials?\nWe will certainly have glow materials aplenty to go around\, but we hope you will get creative and bring some glow stuff of your own too! Amazon\, Target and Dollar Tree are great places to start with your glow material\, but if you can’t find any or you don’t get it\, don’t worry! Instruction led by Melinda Storey and Trinity Pottery Guild members. \nSession 2: Individual Appointments\nParticipants will schedule a one-on-one studio visit to clean and refine their leather-hard plates in preparation for bisque firing. \nSession 3: Tentative – August 24\nGather again with Melinda and the Guild to glaze your bisque-fired creations and bring your pieces to life with color. \n– \nCost: $40 per participant.
