DESCRIPTION:Did you know that the old mining town of Brookside\, Alabama houses the Saint Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church? This “Onion-domed” church was founded in 1894 and is home to the annual Russian/Slavic Food Festival in the fall. Brookside is also home to a bird-watchers paradise – Five Mile Creek.
