Brookside Trail Walk

Did you know that the old mining town of Brookside, Alabama houses the Saint Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church? This “Onion-domed” church was founded in 1894 and is home to the annual Russian/Slavic Food Festival in the fall. Brookside is also home to a bird-watchers paradise – Five Mile Creek. We will walk along the creek with Verna Gates and friends and tour the town to learn about the rich Eastern European history. Vans leave Trinity Oxmoor at 9:30 am. $15 plus dutch treat lunch (lunch spot TBD).
